[USA/Sept 2010] DAA Facebook page acquires hundreds of new

The Designers Against AIDS group, otherwise known as the DAA, reported a sudden jump in members on its Facebook page today. The site admin reported that as of midnight last night, the page, which supports the activities of Designers Against AIDS had jumped from 7,000 to 7,203 overnight. As Tokio Hotel fans may recall, the German band from Magdeburg routinely supports the DAA through campaigns like last year’s month long AIDS fundraiser, which kicked off on December 1—International AIDS Day.

When citing the page’s recent jump in fan numbers, the DAA Facebook page’s mod exclaimed

We reached 7000 fans last midnight and are now at almost 7203 already... what's going on, people???

Of course, a Tokio Hotel fan had the answer to that “TOKIO HOTEL POWER!!!”

And then later when the same fan realized how many people had supported her assumption by giving it the thumbs up sign on Facebook, she followed up by saying

‎25 people like my comments and that's in less than 45 minutes, this is another sign of Tokio Hotel's magical powers Very Happy

The band does seem to have that effect on events when Tokio Hotel fans know the band will be showing up to an event like the Radio Regenbogen Awards, which sold out according to event organizers thanks to the participation of celebrities like Tokio Hotel and German soul singer, Xavier Naidoo.

The purpose of Designers Against AIDS is to raise money for AIDS support and research and more specifically to support the International HIV/AIDS Awareness Education Center (IHAEC) in Antwerp, Belgium. The organization’s latest fundraiser is a book called “Designers against AIDS: The First Decade!” Recently, the DAA revealed a front cover mock up of the book, which featured one of the features that excites fans the most—a poster of Tokio Hotel. (The book will be wrapped in it.) The book itself will feature three never before seen pictures of the Tokio Hotel Twins, Bill and Tom Kaulitz.

The book is garnering excitement among fans, according to a recent email interview done with Ninette Murk, Founder/Creative director 'Designers against AIDS'. She reported that fans and fan clubs have written into the organization to find out more about how Tokio Hotel fans can get a copy of the book. Plans are in the works for Tokio Hotel fans to be able to buy the Designers Against AIDS book online.

As of this writing, the Designers Against AIDS had 7,238 fans.
